AHPGA – Totally New Approach to Golf Lessons

After seven weeks of intensive training at the Australian High Performance Golf Academy (AHPGA), Robbie is absolutely amazed. He flew over from Taiwan to develop his golf game, and now he’s hooked! So we asked him about his time on the Gold Coast at the golf academy, and the AHPGA program.

“It was a special journey to come to AHPGA and meet my coach Tony [head coach at the Australian High Performance Golf Academy].

What I learnt here at AHPGA, nobody teaches golf this way in my home country Taiwan. I now realise golf is not about beautiful swing, it is about how the club hits the ball!!

I learned to discover the feeling I need when I swing the club, what it feels like to hit the ball correctly. For the first time in my golf lessons Tony gave me specific drills to work on. I learn that golf instruction is about listening and learning. I have learnt to be my own best coach!

Of course mental game is very important thing in golf. The way I think about On-Course Strategy and Pre-Game Planning and my self-belief are all getting better and improved so much, thanks to Tony’s on course lessons and Lawrie’s weekly Mind On The Game Class.

Here at AHPGA I’ve practiced in all areas of the game that we all need, short game, pitching, and on course strategies and training daily in how to play golf, not just how to swing!

I will come to AHPGA again and again, to become a complete player!

I came to AHPGA to become a complete player! I recommend all golfers who are serious about learning to become a complete player spend time with Tony and the team at AHPGA”.

Thank you Robbie, we will miss you mate. You are now a member of the AHPGA Team…we will continue to keep in touch and monitor your progress….Good golfing.
